Detectors, sounders and call points are checked in turn, with the findings written up so your logbook stays complete.

Our process

A servicing agreement, without the admin

  1. Takeover survey

We inspect your existing system, review its history and flag anything that needs attention before the agreement starts.

  2. Scheduled visits

Servicing is planned at the intervals BS 5839-1 recommends for your premises, booked around your occupants.

  3. Test & report

Engineers test the system methodically, update your logbook and leave a clear written report after each visit.

  4. Rectify & advise

If we find faults we quote repairs plainly, and advise honestly when devices or panels are reaching end of life.

Meeting your responsibilities under the Fire Safety Order

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person to keep fire alarms maintained in efficient working order. Servicing to BS 5839-1, with proper records, is how that duty is demonstrated.

FAQs

Common questions

How often should a fire alarm be serviced?

BS 5839-1 recommends servicing at least every six months for most systems, with more frequent attention where the fire risk assessment requires it. We will advise the right interval for your building.

Can you take over a system installed by another company?

Yes. We start with a takeover survey to confirm the system's condition, then put it on a normal servicing schedule.

What if you find a fault during a service?

We explain it in plain English, make the system safe where possible, and quote any remedial work separately so you can decide with full information.

Do you cover out-of-hours faults?

Yes — our 24-hour rapid callout line is available for urgent faults between scheduled visits.
